“This is lovely stuff. You can hear all the love that’s gone into it”
I am really looking forward to some great gigs in the next couple of weeks. First off will be a return visit to Dry Water Arts in Northumberland as part of the Songwriters In the Round event on Friday July 10th. I will be catching up with my old pal Vincent Cross and meeting Tom Portman for the first time. We will be swapping songs, stories and discussing the constant quest for a strong lyric and a great melody!
A few days after that I am off up to Scotland for a couple of Village Hall gigs. The first will be a return to Fornighty Village Hall in Lethen, Nairn on Friday July 17th, followed by a first visit to Craignish Village Hall in Ardfern, Argyll on Saturday July 18th.
As well as playing some old favourites and my recent single 'Rollercoaster' I also hope to be showcasing at least one new song from a clutch of songs I have been working on recently. I'm at that point with a couple of them where I am thinking ... 'is that it or can I make it a little better?''. Always a tough one!
I hope to see you at one of the shows and please come and say hello. For more details visit the GIGS PAGE
Cheers
Steve

This gig is definitely happening! Songwriters In The Round
Three songwriters — Vincent Cross (New York / Ireland), Tom Portman (Galway, Ireland), and Steve Jinski (Newcastle, UK) — share the stage for an evening of songs, stories, and musical conversation. In this Nashville-style “in-the-round” format, each artist takes turns performing, accompanying, and responding to one another in a warm, intimate setting. Expect a night of original roots and folk music filled with collaboration and spontaneity.
If you are interested can we advise you book your tickets very soon as places are limited and tickets are selling well so reserve your seat ... fast!!

We are not having much luck with gigs at the moment! Sadly the Willowman Festival in Thirsk, Yorkshire has had to be cancelled due to slow ticket sales and a poor economic climate. The image is a copy of what went out on social media recently citing the war in Iran, rising fuel costs and people having less disposable income at the moment as reasons why the organisers have taken the difficult decision to cancel the festival. It is all very disappointing.

Just over two weeks before Steve plays The Acoustic Stage at The Willowman Festival. The festival take place over the weekend 18 - 21st June and Steve plays on Day 2 Friday afternoon at 3pm in T'OTHER Field in The Acoustic & Chill Out Tent. The festival is a multi-stage outdoor music event celebrating folk, acoustic, indie and world music. Now in its 10th anniversary year, it is one of Yorkshire's most beloved independent festivals. It should be a great festival and we are looking forward to catching sets by Alabama 3 and Smoove & Turrell on the Saturday night. Tickets are still available for the whole weekend or you can just do one day ... make it Friday and come and say hello!! Go to GIGS PAGE for more information

It is with regret that we have to announce the cancellation of two gigs Steve had coming up at the end of May. The show at The Queens Hall Theatre in Cranbrook on May 29th has been cancelled because the band from Australia who Steve was to be opening for, starring Henry Wagons & The Tennessee Studs have been unable to get here!.
That left us with a one off gig at The Man Of Kent in Rochester on May 28th. That is quite a way to travel for just one gig (from Gateshead!) so the pub owner Heather (she's marvellous!) has kindly agreed to get another more local act to do the night instead. But don't worry, Steve will be playing at The Man Of Kent on Thursday October 29th 2026. You can check the Gigs page for more details.

Here is a short preview of the video that will accompany the release of Steve's new single 'Rollercoaster' on Monday April 27th. ... VIDEO
It was filmed at The Staithes in Gateshead by Jim & Fiona from Multi Minded ... more information to follow.
